Leyland Motors was a British vehicle manufacturer founded in 1896 as the Lancashire Steam Motor Company. It specialized in trucks, buses, and trolleybuses, later expanding into car manufacturing with acquisitions like Triumph and Rover in the 1960s.
In 1968, Leyland Motors merged with British Motor Holdings, forming British Leyland, which later became BL and then the Rover Group. While the car division eventually dissolved, the truck-building operation survived as Leyland Trucks, now a subsidiary of Paccar.
