North American Aviation was a major American aerospace manufacturer, founded in 1928 by Clement Melville Keys. Initially a holding company, it transitioned into aircraft manufacturing under James H. Kindelberger, producing iconic aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, B-25 Mitchell bomber, and F-86 Sabre. The company also contributed to space exploration, developing the Apollo command and service module and the second stage of the Saturn V rocket. In 1967, it merged into North American Rockwell, which later became Rockwell International, and is now part of Boeing.
